Photo Explanation- Blog #47

Welcome Back!

In this blog, I will be describing the process behind the pictures I took for my magazine.

Cover Photo

This is the cover photo I took of my subject, Luciana Toscano. I took this picture with my camera, a SONY DSH300, after an event. She really liked her outfit that day so she asked me if I could take some pictures of her for her instagram. This photo is one of the many I took. When I put it on my cover page, I will duplicate it and use a ‘removing background’ tool to place my subject in front of my magazine title, ‘Eterna’. I also put a filter called ‘Fresco’ so it could go with the red-wine color scheme I am going for. The photo above is unedited.

Table of Contents Photos

I used two pictures for my table of contents. The first one came out of the round of photos I took of the subject after the event mentioned above. This picture is to complement what the feature story would be about, or in this case, who the feature story would be able. The second picture was taken recently after my mom got a bouquet of flowers for her birthday and it gave me an idea to change a story from my table of contents to a flower arrangement. The way I positioned this picture was from above tilting downwards so you could see the subjects eyes along with the flowers. On both pictures, I put the filter named ‘Fresco’. These pictures are also unedited.

Double-page spread photo

This picture was taken recently this year for my subjects 21st birthday. She asked me to assist her friend in taking pictures of her and this particular picture was taken by me. The reason why this picture looks a bit different is because it was taken with her friends more advanced camera and he edited the picture for her birthday instagram post. Therefore, this picture is edited already although I still added the filter named ‘Fresco’ to try to give it the same effect as the other pictures. Overall, I did take this picture with my own two hands.
